Start Affiliate Marketing Over 50
I left school in 1989. I didn’t grow up with any of this, the internet and online world didn’t exist when I was growing up, and for a long time I assumed the online world belonged to people half my age.
It doesn’t. Here’s how to start, whatever year you left school. If i can do this then i am sure that you can too.
Drop these three myths first
“I’m too old”
No one checks your age at the door. No matter whether your 16 all the way up to 99 its doesn’t matter what your age. Your readers care whether you’re helpful and honest. That’s it.
“I’m not techy enough”
Can you send an email? Post on Facebook? Then you can learn this. You get shown how to get things set up, as long as you can take it one step at a time and manage to log in, then you can watch the training videos. then this is for you.
“Everyone else is miles ahead
We were all beginners once, plenty of people no matter what their age are searching for someone like them to learn from. Why can you not be that person?
Use what you’ve already got
- Experience. You’ve had jobs, raised families, solved problems. That’s all content.
- Patience. You know good things take time.
- Reliability. You turn up. That beats talent.
- A good nose for nonsense. You can spot hype a mile off. So can your readers, and they’ll trust you for avoiding it.
Choose a program that does the heavy lifting
Don’t try to build everything from scratch. Look for these four things:
- Free to join, so there’s no risk in looking
- A clear place to start and steps in order
- The technical bits done for you
- Real people to ask when you get stuck
That’s why I use the ClickBank Profit Club (CBPC) . The Team level is free. The funnel and emails are built for you. There’s a live group coaching and a support team. And it’s run by John, a UK marketer who started out as a factory worker.
Follow this simple start
- Join free and find your login email.
- Add your ClickBank details inside your account.
- Start the training at step one. Don’t skip ahead.
- Work for 20 minutes a day. Set a timer.
- Write your next step on a sticky note before you stop.
- Share your story. Start with why you’re doing this now.
Make the tech easier on yourself
- Keep a notebook of logins and steps.
- Do one new thing per session, not three.
- Take screenshots of anything confusing and send them to support.
- Ask. Nobody minds. They are there to help and guide you.
Stay safe
- Never spend money you can’t afford to lose.
- Ignore anyone promising fast or guaranteed income.
- Start free. Upgrade only if and when it makes sense.
When I first started in the online space, I really didn’t know what I was doing, I mean the internet I first used was on dial up, (I bet you are hearing that awful dial up sound right now!) fast forward twenty plus years and Wifi changed the game, What I realised is that everything was going ‘online’ so when my career as a chef ended due to various medical issues, there had to be something that I could do? This is when I found out about affiliate marketing, when I say I have tried so many things I really have, some worked and some didn’t, So when you find something that really works I like to share my experiences in case it can help someone else,

Is 50 too old to start affiliate marketing?
No. There’s no age limit. Life experience, patience and reliability are real advantages, and many people start online businesses later in life.
Do I need to be good with technology?
No. If you can send an email and use Facebook, you can learn this. A done-for-you funnel removes most of the technical setup.
How much does it cost to start?
You can start for free. The ClickBank Profit Club’s Team level costs nothing, and there are free email tools for beginners. Paid upgrades are optional.
How much time will it take?
Around 20 to 30 focused minutes a day is enough to make steady progress. There are no guaranteed results, and it usually takes months.
