It was finishing getting everything set up correctly. It felt slow and a bit boring. Part of me was thinking,<\/p>\n
Can’t I just get to the bit where I actually do something?<\/em><\/p>\n I’ve had that thought many times over the years, and it’s never ended well.<\/p>\n So this time I decided that I had to do it properly, take the time to get it done right, rather than going all guns blazing like a bull in a china shop and promoting it before it was ready to go…..<\/p>\n \n My old pattern went like this:<\/p>\n Round and round. I’ve half-built more funnels than I care to admit.<\/p>\n It’s not a lack of effort. It’s rushing, and rushing feels productive while you’re doing it, which is what makes it so sneaky. The you get the its not working<\/em> guilt, so this is the moment I would get frustrated and want something new, but this time it was going to be different…<\/p>\n I did the boring step properly. It took me about 24 hours in my limited pockets of time, and nothing exciting came of it today. But I know it’s there now, and I won’t have to come back and fix it later.<\/p>\n The thing I’m noticing about the ClickBank Profit Club is that it doesn’t pretend the boring bits don’t exist. It just puts them in the right order. You’re not left guessing whether you should be doing X or Y first.<\/p>\n You simply log in watch the start here\u00a0<\/em>videos follow them step by step, they are done in a way that every new video starts in exactly the place you left it in the previous one, which is a big help especially for me…<\/p>\n \n Before any of this, I trained as a chef. I left school, went to catering college, and learned very quickly that the glamorous part of cooking is a tiny fraction of the job.<\/p>\n Most of it is prep: chopping, weighing, labelling, getting everything in place before service starts. Chefs call it mise en place<\/em>, which basically means everything in its place<\/em>.<\/p>\n Nobody gets excited about prep. But if you skip it, service falls apart. You end up running around mid-rush looking for things, burning stuff, and getting shouted at.<\/p>\n Affiliate marketing is exactly the same. The setup, the basics and the learning-what-you’re-promoting part are all prep. Skip them, and everything that comes after is harder than it needs to be.<\/p>\n \n From my own mistakes, these are the things people tend to rush:<\/p>\n Understanding what you’re promoting.<\/strong> If you can’t explain it simply, you can’t recommend it honestly.<\/p>\n Knowing who you’re talking to.<\/strong> Everyone<\/em> isn’t an audience, you need to find your who could this help person.<\/p>\n Getting your accounts and links set up properly.<\/strong> This is boring, but vital.<\/p>\n Having somewhere to send people.<\/strong> Just a link on its own usually isn’t enough.<\/p>\n Being patient.<\/strong> This is the hardest one. There will be days where you think why am I doing this? as you can’t see anything happening, but sharing something new takes time, and people need to figure out who you are before they trust what you say….<\/p>\n None of these are exciting. All of them matter.<\/p>\n \n I get it, I really do. I’ve been there and done this so many times, \u00a0But if you’ve been going round in circles, the answer probably isn’t another new idea.
